Welcome to He+Him /They+Them
My name is Lucas Silveira, and I provide mentorship and guidance to transgender men and non-binary AFAB folks setting out on their journey of self-discovery and transformation.
When I came out as a trans man, I was the lead singer of a band called The Cliks. My transition was very public – and sometimes challenging. I’ve navigated the complexities of gender identity and have a deep understanding that transitioning is both exciting and daunting. I'm here to offer you unwavering support, resources and empowerment every step of the way.
I offer individual mentorship to those about to transition or who are well on their way. This includes advice about coming out to friends and family, help in accessing resources and education, and a trusted ally in navigating those resources – from counselling to medical treatment to style choices and voice transitioning.
I also offer community support, in the form of educational services about allyship, for families, the workplace and beyond. Allyship is essential to fostering inclusivity, and I am dedicated to equipping others with the knowledge and tools to create supportive environments.
I am also able to offer support and education to family and friends – or parents who want to support their child through this transformative moment in their lives.
WHO AM I?
Besides being the founder and lead singer of The Cliks, I’ve worked within the trans community for many years, providing mentorship and guidance. In 2021, I co-hosted a TV series called Shine True, where I got to meet and advise young trans and non-binary people as they came out to friends and family and made decisions about how they wanted to present to the world – and to their community. My experience as a mentor on Shine True made me feel a sense of purpose – and a calling to continue to do it off-screen.
Why am I the person to offer advice or walk you through your transition? I have a clear understanding of intersectionality, what it means to come from a marginalized identity – and the power of an anti-oppression approach. I also understand that everyone is unique, and although there can be common threads in transitioning, everyone will have their own individual needs and challenges.
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
We are currently experiencing a worldwide social epidemic of anti-transgender/non-binary sentiment. An increasingly transphobic infrastructure – plus dedicated groups – are attempting to take away access to existing support, services and health care available to trans folks, making navigating the system that much more difficult.
As someone who has navigated that system and advocated for years for my health and mental health care, I am passionate and fearless about advocating for others who do not yet feel equipped to take on these hurdles.
Wherever you are in your transition journey, I want to let you know that I will be there for you, every step of the way, passionately advocating for your rights so that you can focus on the joy of your transition.
LET’S WORK TOGETHER!
What can I offer you? A safe, inclusive, and affirming space where you can voice your trepidation, explore your true self and find strength in your unique identity. Guidance on hormone therapy. Mental health support. Vocal coaching for singers transitioning with testosterone. Fashion consulting. Empowering all gender expressions, from femme to masc and everything in between. And an entry to a community of people who understand – or share – your experience.
Currently, I focus on supporting trans men and non-binary/gender diverse AFAB (Assigned Female At Birth) folks, as I recognize the invisibility and underserved nature of this segment of the trans community. While I don't provide transition support for trans women or AMAB (Assigned Male At Birth) non-binary/gender diverse individuals at present, I extend a warm welcome to everyone seeking guidance – and I can try to direct you to support from those who share similar identities. I believe in fostering a community where everyone finds the guidance they need, provided by mentors who truly understand their journey.
I am a musician – and I offer my expertise to trans and non-binary AMAB musicians, singers and performers. I recognize the value of identity-specific support in the music industry and am here to empower you on your artistic journey.
I am so excited about doing this work with all of you. Together, we'll embark on a transformative journey, fostering self-acceptance and empowerment, so you can live your most authentic life. Your journey is unique, and I'm here to help you navigate it with strength, resilience, and joy.
